Veggie burger of sweet potato and halloumi

Veggie burgers are very popular at the moment. But have you ever tried a sweet potato veggie burger? This veggie burger consists of sweet potato and Violife halloumi.

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 450 g of Violife halloumi
  • Spicy mango chutney if desired

Preparation

    Cut the sweet potato and halloumi into slices about 4 cm wide.

    Drizzle olive oil over the sweet potato and halloumi slices.

    Grill the slices on the BBQ. Grill the sweet potato for about 10 minutes and the halloumi for 4 minutes. Grilling the halloumi is crucial for the most delicious results. The cheese has a firm texture and retains its shape after grilling. Remember to flip the slices halfway through.

    Once they are ready on the BBQ, assemble the “burger bun”: start with a slice of grilled sweet potato, then add a slice of halloumi and top it off with a spoonful of mango chutney. Repeat this until you have a nice burger. You can find the recipe for the mango chutney here.
