Mojito with lime

60 ml dark rum
½ lime, cut into quarters
3 sprigs of mint
1-2 teaspoons fine granulated cane sugar
5 ice cubes
ice-cold sparkling mineral water

This velvety smooth and refreshing combination of rum, mint, sugar, lime, ice and sparkling soda water is a classic cocktail from Cuba.

  • 1
Pour the rum into a wide, short glass.
  • 2
Wash the lime. Slice it in half and then slice the half into quarters. Add the quartered lime to the rum in the glass.
  • 3
Strip the mint from two of the sprigs and add the leaves to the rum in the glass. Add the sugar.
  • 4
Use a pestle to crush the lime and mint in the glass or stir well using a spoon.
  • 5
Add the ice cubes. Top off with sparkling mineral water.
  • 6
Add the third sprig of mint to the glass as garnish.
