400 grams of mangetout
desired amount of ceasar dressing
1 red onion
400 grams leaf spinach, washed
200 grams of bacon
Dash of olive oil
Freshly ground pepper to taste
This simple salad is ready to serve in no time. A great summertime recipe, perfect for a BBQ. The combination of mangetout, figs and bacon will be the element of surprise at your BBQ. Plenty of green and a good bite because of the mangetout and bacon. Enjoy!
Crisp the bacon on the bbq or in the pan.
Put a pan of water on the stove to cook the mangetout. First cut off the ends of the mangetout and put the beans in the pan with boiling water. Don’t cook them for longer than 5 minutes, so they retain more flavour and a crispy bite.
In the meantime, cut the red onion into very small chunks, the figs into small pieces and mix with the leaf spinach, dressing, olive oil and freshly ground pepper.
Drain the mangetout and rinse them under cold water.
Chop the crispy bacon and sprinkle over the mangetout and figs.
