Asian Steak Strips with green asparagus


600 grams of steak
300 grams of green asparagus tips
2 red bell peppers
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tbsp sesame oil
3 tbsp soya sauce
3 cloves of garlic
2 cm ginger
380 grams of brown rice
1 bunch of spring onion
fresh coriander
1 lime

If you want a quick and healthy meal, this stir-fry dish really is the recipe for you. Particularly if you like Asian cuisine, steak and green asparagus. Green asparagus tips do not need to be peeled and can be prepared super fast in this stir-fry dish. They are tastiest when they are slightly cooked. Best for the taste, and for the vitamins. You can also use thick green asparagus, you don't have to peel these either, but it is better to cut them into 3 pieces.

    Cook the rice until tender. Boil 1 cup of rice per person with 2 cups of water over low heat. By slowly boiling the rice in the right amount of water, you will retain the most flavour.

    Cut the steak into equal pieces. If you like medium rare, cut the pieces a bit thicker. Marinate the beef in the soya sauce, grated ginger, garlic and olive oil.

    Heat a frying pan or wok. Sear the meat briefly all around on high heat. After 2 minutes, remove the meat from the pan.

    Cut the peppers into half rings. Stirt-fry in the same wok on a high heat with a little oil.

    Cut off the 2cm of the ends of the green asparagus tips. Stir-fry the green asparagus on a high heat until al dente. Add the sesame seeds at the end.

    Now add the meat and the marinade and cook for about 2 minutes.

    Stir some chopped coriander and spring onion into the rice. The grated green zest of the lime also adds a fresh note to the rice. Enjoy this Asian stir-fry dish with steak and beautiful green asparagus.
